Capa Qi

It is the second most superficial layer in the diagnosis of the four layers.

It is the beginning of an Interior pattern. It is the culminating phase of the attack of heat, of febrile disease. It is the moment when there is a very important struggle between the pathogenic energy and the vital energy (spectacular symptoms). The organism is in a state of functional agitation. The pathogenic heat when it penetrates can end up in many places.

Common symptoms

  • High fever (without aversion to cold) 38-40º C
  • Red tongue with yellow and seborrheic coating
  • Rapid and strong pulse.
  • Xin Fan (agitation, nervousness)
  • Thirst
  • Dark urine

Symptoms at the Lung level

  • Bronchitis
  • Pneumonia (cough, pain, yellowish-green phlegm...)
  • Expectoration
  • Viscous phlegm
  • Nasal flaring (heat creates wind -> convulsions)

in this case -> antibiotics!!!

Symptoms at the thorax-diaphragm level

  • Xin Fan (discomfort) important. Does not know whether to sit or stand.
  • Thoracic oppression
  • Nausea
  • Treatment: CV-17 + CV-12, PC-6 (free the diaphragm area), LU-10 or LU-5 (the Lung channel originates there)

Symptoms at the stomach and intestines level

  • Stomach: corresponds to the symptoms of Yang Ming channel (high fever, great thirst, profuse sweating, ...)
  • Intestine: same symptom of Yang Ming organ (constipation, fever, fetid yellow fluid, blocked intestine)

Symptoms at the Gall Bladder level

Corresponds, more or less, to the Shao Yang pattern: bitter taste in mouth, pain and discomfort at the hypochondrium level, nausea, vomiting, ... There is no alternation of heat-cold)
