See: Liver Syndromes and Lung Syndromes.
In correct functioning, Metal controls Wood, containing its excessive activity (see Five Elements). An excess of Liver-Fire (due to an emotional problem) can reverse this control, in which case Wood insults Metal. It is possible that the Lung is also weak, and for this reason cannot control.
It normally happens to people of a choleric temperament. "You have to have a lot of ill will to reverse a relationship of dominance like that which exists between Lung and Liver".
