Stiper therapy or Stiper puncture is an alternative to acupuncture that does not use needles. It is a safe and easy therapy to learn to use as self-treatment.
Stipers are small patches with crystallized silicon (powdered quartz). They have been developed by Milagros Uria and Pedro Plaja. They are very effective, and work very well for patients with apprehension to needles or as therapeutic reinforcement.
Stipers are placed on the skin over acupuncture points and are taped on (ideally hypoallergenic and waterproof). They are left for one to three days. They do not cause any pain, on some occasions itching is felt.
The quartz of Stipers has a regulatory function at an energetic level. You do not need to think if you need to tonify or disperse. They regulate, balance and energize. The contact of quartz with the skin stimulates the movement of lymph and oxygen, and this helps regulate the movement of Qi and Xue.
Stiper Sizes
There are several sizes:
- 12: The largest and most used for everything. Especially for acute and pain cases
- 9: A little smaller, balancing and regulating function
- 6: For more sensitive people
- 3: Granules, for precision work.
How long to wear Stipers
Depending on the situation to treat, the recommendations for use of Stipers are as follows:
- Acute case: change Stipers every 1-2 days. For example in case of a blow, a fall.
- Chronic case: change Stipers every 3 days. Consider rest periods.
- Emotional treatment: change Stipers every day. Avoid speaking badly, criticizing when wearing Stipers.
Therapeutic Combinations
Stipers can be used alone or combined with other therapies as reinforcement. For example:
- With tuning fork. Apply sound frequencies over the Stiper.
- With color. With chromotherapy tools, the frequency of a color can be applied over the Stiper.
- Flower essences, like Bach Flowers.
