Testicles

The testicle in men is an external expression of the kidney. It should be noted that in TCM the reproductive system of both men and women is closely related to Kidney energy, the Jing of the Kidney.

The shape of the testicle is related to age and the state of energy. It is normal for children to have them higher up and for them to descend with age. Children with very low testicles probably have weak Kidney Jing. When it is cold, energy is conserved and they contract.

Swollen and painful testicle

Hydrocele (filled with water). Sensation of heat, numbness, chills, fever. The 3 yang channels of the foot are affected. However, the testicles are located in a yin area of the body. From the perspective of the 6 layers, Jue Yin and Tai Yang must be treated: If Jue Yin does not close, Tai Yang cannot open.

Elevator-type testicle

Goes up and down. Sometimes inflamed and when rising exerts great pressure. Relationship with Liver, Jue Yin. See: cold blocking the Liver Channel. LR-1 and LR-3 help to relieve pressure.

Hard testicle

Cyst. If pressed, the pain rises upward through the abdomen and may reach the umbilicus. Indicates Qi-Blood stasis. Treatment involves the Liver Channel and the Bladder Channel (Jue Yin and Tai Yang gates) and Chong Mai
