Yang Symptoms

As examples we have:

  • Back pain that worsens with movement and improves when lying down.
  • Much stress, little sleep and possible tachycardia.
  • Hip pain that improves at rest or worsens with movement.
  • Seasonal asthma with dry cough, caused by pollen or animal hair.

These are symptoms related to Yang conditions:

Heat

  • Inflammation, hot to the touch.
  • Symptoms worsen with heat and improve with cold.

Activity

  • Hyperactive organs.
  • Restless or hyperactive individuals.
  • Symptoms worsen with activity and improve at rest.

Dryness

  • Symptoms worsen in dry periods and improve in humid periods.
  • Brittle hair, dry skin.

Daytime

  • Symptoms begin in the morning, worsen at midday and ease at night.

Ascending

  • Symptoms in the upper body (head, neck, arms, hands), contractures in the neck, headaches.

Dispersal

  • Movements from the interior to the exterior.
  • Straight or hyperextended back.
  • Internal discomfort manifesting in external conditions: food allergies, hives, etc.

Defense

  • Immune system: recurrent respiratory infections due to climate change.

Function

  • Hyper or hypofunction of organs:

Urgency to defecate: excess of Large Intestine-Yang Infrequent urination, edemas: Kidney-Yang deficiency.
