Chief complaint

Acid regurgitation and nausea.

Clinical history

Since 5 years ago, the patient suffers from acid regurgitation and nausea. It worsens in winter. 3 months ago he caught cold and has epigastric pain that is relieved with palpation. The pain radiates toward the right hypochondrium and is also relieved with the ingestion of small amounts of food. Stools are first normal, then soft and broken up. Fear of cold, chest oppression, pasty mouth. The face is pale.

The tongue has a thick, greasy white coating.

The pulse is slippery and tense.

Diagnosis

• Acid regurgitation and nausea -> stomach, and is related to cold.
• Yang deficiency -> chronicity, is relieved with palpation and after ingesting small amounts of food.
• Dampness -> thick white coating, chest oppression, pasty mouth. Slippery pulse.

Empty-Cold of stomach with dampness accumulation and Spleen-Qi deficiency.

There are no indications of causes connected to the Liver, if the Liver is treated (e.g.: LR-3) in this case the stomach energy will sink even more.
