Full-Heat type: acute gastroenteritis or hepatitis

Symptoms

  • Sensation of heat, fever
  • Dull headache with sensation of heaviness in head
  • Yellow complexion (mandarin peel), jaundice, yellow sclera
  • Itching of skin or skin eruption
  • Sensation of pain and oppression of epigastrium or abdomen
  • Poor appetite
  • Sensation of heaviness
  • Thirst without desire to drink
  • Bitter and dry mouth
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Pasty stools with foul-smelling odor
  • Burning sensation in anus
  • Dark and scanty urine
  • Sticky sweating
  • Red tongue with yellow and viscous, thick coating
  • Slippery and rapid pulse

Causes

  1. Invasion of external Damp-Heat (summer)
  2. Excess consumption of quantity, pungent, alcohol, fats, dairy products. Food poisoning.
  3. Spleen-Qi deficiency that transforms dampness into Phlegm, heat
