Spleen Qi Deficiency

When Qi is deficient, the functions of the organ weaken and fail. In the case of Spleen, the primary failure is in the transportation and transformation of nutrients.

It is the cause of other patterns:

  1. Spleen-Qi sinking
  2. Spleen not controlling Blood

Symptoms

  • Accumulation of Dampness
  • Poor appetite
  • Abdominal Distension, especially postprandial (after eating)
  • Fatigue, tiredness, lassitude
  • Loose stools
  • Depressed mood
  • Tendency to obesity
  • Yellow pale or pale face
  • Pale tongue with white coating
  • Empty pulse
  • Spleen-Qi deficiency with Dampness accumulation: The function of transportation and transformation of fluids is disturbed and edema appears (Yang deficiency), heaviness, sensation of fullness especially in the legs, sticky mouth, Leukorrhea, headache (frontal), sensation of heaviness in the head.

Causes

  1. Dietary imbalance
  2. Excess pensiveness, worry, obsession
  3. Prolonged diarrhea
