Four Seas Points

According to the Spiritual Axis, there are Four Seas in the body. The Sea of the East, South, West and North. Each of these Four Seas is related to symptoms of excess and deficiency as well as their acupuncture points.

Sea of Food

Points ST-30, ST-36.

  • Symptoms of excess. Abdominal fullness.
  • Symptoms of deficiency. Hunger without desire to eat.

Sea of Qi

Points CV-17, GV-15, GV-14, ST-9.

  • Symptoms of excess. Red face, chest fullness and breathlessness.
  • Symptoms of deficiency. Breathlessness without desire to speak.

Sea of Blood

Points BL-11, ST-37, ST-39.

  • Symptoms of excess. Sensations of the body being larger than usual or discomfort for no apparent reason.
  • Symptoms of deficiency. Sensations of the body being smaller than usual for no apparent reason.

Sea of Marrow

Points GV-20, GV-16.

  • Symptoms of excess. Sensation of great strength or vigor.
  • Symptoms of deficiency. Leg weakness, tinnitus, blurred vision, dizziness, desire to lie down.
