Heart Qi Stagnation

Symptoms

  • Palpitations
  • Sensation of distension or oppression of the chest
  • Depression
  • Slight sensation of globus in the throat
  • Shortness of breath,
  • Sighing
  • Poor appetite
  • Distension of the chest and epigastrium
  • Dislikes lying down,
  • The 4 limbs weak and cold
  • Lips slightly cyanotic
  • Pale complexion
  • Tongue slightly pale and cyanotic at the edges and in the thoracic area
  • Empty pulse but slightly tight in the left radial position

Causes

  1. The seven emotions, especially excess of pensiveness
  2. Qi deficiency

Treatment

  • PC-6: releases Qi constraint at the level of the chest. Communicates with 17 CV.
  • CV-17: releases Qi constraint.
  • LU-7: opens the Conception Vessel, facilitates diffusion.
  • LU-11: releases oppression of the chest and epigastrium.
  • HT-8: Ying-Spring Point, mobilizes energy along the channel.
  • CV-14: Front-Mu Point of the Heart.
  • LR-14 + LR-3: releases Qi constraint.
