Heart Yang Deficiency

Worsening of Heart-Qi Deficiency: lacks the energy to push, to pump blood, blood congeals.

Symptoms

  • Palpitations and tachycardia
  • Shortness of breath and fatigue on exertion
  • Chest oppression
  • Physical and mental exhaustion
  • Mild depression
  • Sensation of discomfort in the heart area (precordial)
  • Spontaneous sweating
  • Accumulation of fluid, edema
  • Aversion to cold, sensation of cold and sweating
  • Cold hands and sometimes also sweaty
  • Pale face with blackish tinge
  • Lips slightly dark, cyanotic in severe cases
  • Pale tongue with white coating or swollen tongue from fluid accumulation
  • Deep and weak pulse, knotted in severe cases (irregular, extrasystoles)
