- Tonifies Kidney and Yuan Qi, the energy of Pre-Heaven, nourishes Blood and Jing-Essence. All Cold-Interior disorders, deficiency problems, Empty patterns.
- Tonifies Kidney-Yang and Spleen-Yang: early morning diarrhea, Spleen-Qi sinking, urinary or fecal incontinence, cold in the back, stools with undigested food. Especially with moxibustion
- Eliminates cold and dampness from the lower burner: leukorrhea
- Sexuality and fertility: impotence, infertility
- Gynecology: irregular menstruation, scanty or excessive, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea
- Urinary problems due to kidney stones
- Pain and weakness of lower back and knees
