Causes
  1. Most common: Liver Invading Spleen: because Liver is in excess or because Spleen is in empty.Liver-Qi stagnation + Spleen-Qi deficiency
  2. It can also happen that there is an insufficiency of the draining and evacuation function: "stagnant wood, stuck earth".


Normally it occurs more in women, presenting with constipation or diarrhea (or alternating). The irritable bowel syndrome, for example.


Symptoms

  • Alternation of constipation (for example: every 3 days) with pasty stools. The hard plug drops and what follows are soft, pasty or diarrheal stools.
  • Very thin girls with bloated belly.
  • Irregular menstruation
  • Pain and distension of the chest-hypochondrium
  • Frequent sighing, depression, xin fan, irritability
  • Bitter taste in mouth, dry throat, poor appetite, ,
