Mugwort is molded into cones of more or less 1 cm wide. It is not applied directly on the skin, a plate is placed in between. It is commonly used as a plate:
- Garlic: cut into a sheet 2-3 mm thick. Hot and pungent in nature, it resolves dampness and eliminates cold accumulation.
- Ginger: also a thin sheet in which we will have made small holes. Peel the skin. It has a warm and pungent effect. Affinity for Lung, Spleen and Stomach. It is good for gastrointestinal disorders and rheumatic pain.
- Salt: used on the umbilicus. Fill the umbilicus with salt and place the cone on top. It is good for diarrhea, paralysis and cold limbs.
Several cones are applied until the surrounding skin turns slightly red. When the patient feels heat, we remove the cone. It is impractical and rarely used nowadays, as mugwort cones in chimney shape with adhesive base have become available.
