Exterior Pattern: sore throat, throat symptoms, inflammation and fever.
Symptoms
- Aversion to wind
- Fever
- Cough with yellow, sticky phlegm difficult to expectorate
- Headache
- Absence of sweating or slight sweating
- Pain and inflammation of the throat
- Thirst with desire to drink
- Red tongue
- Floating-Rapid pulse.
- In severe cases: shortness of breath, nasal flaring, mental restlessness
Causes
- Attack of Wind-Heat: exposure to heating, many hours of wind and sun on a very hot day.
- Attack of Wind-Cold that penetrates to the Yang Ming layer and transforms into heat.
