Exterior Pattern: sore throat, throat symptoms, inflammation and fever.

Symptoms

  • Aversion to wind
  • Fever
  • Cough with yellow, sticky phlegm difficult to expectorate
  • Headache
  • Absence of sweating or slight sweating
  • Pain and inflammation of the throat
  • Thirst with desire to drink
  • Red tongue
  • Floating-Rapid pulse.
  • In severe cases: shortness of breath, nasal flaring, mental restlessness

Causes

  • Attack of Wind-Heat: exposure to heating, many hours of wind and sun on a very hot day.
  • Attack of Wind-Cold that penetrates to the Yang Ming layer and transforms into heat.
