Compression of the median nerve. Symptoms of the first 3 fingers with pain and tingling sensation Ma Mu. Pain worsens at night. There may be weakness and atrophy of the thenar muscles in the long term. Maintained wrist flexion worsens symptoms.

Treatment

1- Distal points:

  • GB-34: tendon meeting point
  • LU-5: relaxes the tendons and muscles of the forearm. It is a water point: hydrates, relaxes. Stimulate slightly.
  • LU-7: Needled towards the hand, retreating the entry point. The luo goes to the thenar eminence and index finger. Stimulate, it causes tingling sensations towards the fingers

2- Local points: PC-7, LU-10, LU-9, PC-6, LI-4, LI-5, TE-5.

Carpal tunnel is operated on if electromyography shows that the motor fibers are damaged, if it is not just pain and we can treat it with acupuncture.
