Head areas
- Yang Ming: frontal area and face.
- Tai Yang: upper and posterior area
- Shao Yang: lateral zone, temporal
- Eyes and vertex belong to Jue Yin and Shao Yang
Headache
- By wind: aversion to wind
- By cold: chills
- By dampness: sensation of heaviness in the head
- By fire: tooth pain
- By heat: nervousness
- By food: oppression of the chest, digestive disorder, abdominal distension
- By alcohol: reflux of Qi
- By anger: reflux of Qi and Xue to the head
- By interior wind: escape of yang, high blood pressure, haemorrhage
- Wind of the head: chronic headache, migraine. People who by constitution have phlegm and fire. It is a pain with sensation of heat, when there is a draft or interior emotion. In addition to headache there is vomiting and nausea.
GV-16; GB-20 are very important wind points.

By interior wind
Normally there is a Rising of Liver-Yang by Kidney-Yin deficiency. Rise in blood pressure, vertigo, sensation of instability when walking, as if on a boat. There can also be belching, hiccup, nausea, vomiting.
By heat in Shao Yang
Normally by wind invasion that blocks the Shao Yang layer (the Gall Bladder Channel) and cannot descend. Vertigo, nausea (without vomiting), loss of balance, eyes move. Younger people. It comes seasonally and disappears. GB-41, TE-5, wind points and descend yang ming
By Qi-Xue deficiency
Dizziness on changing position, on rising. Blurred vision, anaemia, paleness. It can be by haemorrhage, diarrhea, poor diet... The blood does not arrive to nourish the head. (Blood Deficiency). Treat the cause of the deficiency. Also moxa GV-20 and ST-36
Dizziness and heavy head
Somnolence and tiredness especially after eating. Pure Yang cannot rise, dampness in the head. Tonify Kidney and Spleen, descend Yang Ming layer and GV-20
Balance problem
Related to problems in the cerebellum. Walks as if about to fall. We use Yin Stepping Vessel and Yang Stepping Vessel.
Vertigo by anxiety
Dizziness, anguish, loss of appetite, nausea. Gall Bladder-Qi deficiency with Liver-Qi stagnation due to an emotional problem. Heat is generated.
