It may involve a certain relative Yang excess, not of fullness. For example: post-menstrual headache, restlessness, anxiety. Liver-Blood is important for anchoring Yang.

Symptoms

  • Depression
  • Feeling of discouragement
  • Dizzy sensation
  • Numbness and tingling of the limbs, cramps
  • Muscular weakness
  • Insomnia
  • Blurred vision, floaters, dry eyes
  • Loss of night visual acuity
  • Scanty menstruation or amenorrhoea
  • Pale, dull, lustreless complexion, pale lips
  • Brittle and withered nails
  • Dry skin and hair
  • Pale tongue
  • Fine and choppy pulse

Causes

  1. SP/ST deficiency failing to produce Blood
  2. Haemorrhage
  3. KI Jing deficiency
  4. Chronic illness exhausting LR Xue
