The organ Lung forms a Biao Li pair with the bowel Large Intestine. Both belong to the Metal element.

Lung would be the more Yin aspect of Metal, and Large Intestine the Yang.

Some skin pathologies (eczema, dermatitis, itching) that could be understood as excess Yang or heat on the surface improve by draining the Yang of Large Intestine.

Lung-Qi has a descending movement and an action of diffusing fluids that helps Large Intestine expel stools. For this reason constipation can occur when we have a cold.
