The Zang Fu theory refers to the physiology within Traditional Chinese Medicine.
This theory is based on:
- Yin Yang Theory.
- Theory of the Five Elements.
- Theory of Vital Substances.
- Theory of Qi Transformations.
Understanding and mastering this theory is possible by first understanding the previous ones. In this way, knowledge has a structure, the functions of the Internal Organs make sense and we can understand the body as an indivisible whole, interconnected and capable of sustaining functional relationships between each of the parts that compose it: organs, emotions, thoughts, food, respiration, climates, genealogy, etc.
The Zang Fu
There are two types of Internal Organs:
- The Zang Organs which are called Yin and store pure and refined substances.
- The Fu Organs called Yang and which are responsible for transformation and transportation of everything that enters the organism and converting it into those substances that will be stored by the Zang Organs.
Organs and viscera maintain a close structural and functional relationship.
Extraordinary Organs
In addition to the organs and viscera mentioned, there are the so-called curious organs.
Zang Fu Relationships
Each organ forms a pair with a viscus in Biao-Li relationship, interior-exterior, Yin-Yang.
