Of great importance for strengthening the Spleen, it is a Yuan-Source Point, (Earth) of the Earth Element. It is used to tonify Spleen-Stomach in patterns of Spleen-Qi deficiency.
- Controls blood sugar (strengthens the Spleen and pancreas). Used to treat type II diabetes.
- Lung-Heat and Spleen-Cold. This combination results in poor digestion. In summer the Earth is cold and the Heaven hot. The Earth in summer expands Heat outward, so it will be cold and the Heaven hot. This is why in summer digestion is slow, and after eating we experience drowsiness, due to the cold of the Earth. Therefore this point is for slow, heavy digestion, nervousness, heavy head, sleep after eating
