Location

In the supraclavicular fossa, 4 cun lateral to the midline (on the nipple line).

Nature

• At this point the Stomach Channel divides into external and internal branches. The internal branch penetrates the chest. See: pathway of the Stomach Channel
• Muscle channels also pass through this point
• Meeting point with LI, SI,GB and TE.

Actions

• Chest Heat: shortness of breath, suffocation, feeling of oppression in the chest, cough, oedema, infection, fever, tuberculosis, pneumonia (+ LU-1 and points of Yang Ming)
• Release scalene muscles

Treatment

• Needling: DANGEROUS, risk of pneumothorax. Needle 0.2 cun transversely.
• Moxibustion preferred.
• Massage preferred.
