Functions
- Tonify Kidney functions: if Water is very frozen in Kidney-Yang Deficiency, usually comes from a chronic disease. See Kidney Syndromes
- Kidney-Essence deficiency: tiredness, exhaustion, emaciation, consumptive disease (AIDS, cancer)
- Treats ear, deafness, tinnitus
- Urination: incontinence, with blood, cloudy (like milk), dripping, prostatitis, diabetes (abundant urination)
- Stools: diarrhea with undigested food, diarrhea like water, wasting, dysentery
- Edema: fluid retention
- Sexuality: spermatorrhea; cold in genital area: cysts, fibroids, infertility (lack of Yang)
- Weakness and tiredness from excessive work, activity, food
- Lower back pain: wind attacks lumbar, sensation of cold in lumbar and heavy head
- Knee pain, which worsens when tired
- Dark, blackish face: using reserve, exhaustion, cannot do more (e.g. after childbirth)
