In urology we will mainly see the Lin pattern. Lin means "dripping". There are five types of Lin: Re, Shi, Xue, Qi and Gao Lin.
It encompasses all urinary dysfunction with painful urination, such as urinary tract infections (acute or chronic), including kidney stones, acute or chronic prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia.
- Re Lin Pattern: Heat
- Shi Lin Pattern: Stone
- Xue Lin Pattern: Blood in the urine
- Qi Lin Pattern: Qi
- Gao Lin Pattern: Proteinuria
