Qi Lin Syndrome

Qi Lin Syndrome is a pattern of difficulty urinating caused by Kidney-Qi deficiency or Liver-Qi stagnation.

The main symptom is post-void dribbling, weak stream. The fluids are not propelled. The patient thinks he is finished and then the last drops come out and he stains himself.

There are two sub-syndromes:

From Kidney-Qi deficiency

  • More common in elderly persons
  • Sensation of collapse of the lower abdomen
  • Mental and physical asthenia. Lumbar weakness, knees, fine weak and deep pulse... See Kidney-Qi deficiency

From Liver-Qi stagnation

  • There is pain on urination
  • Distension and heaviness in the lower abdomen
  • Taking antibiotics chronifies the problem


Treatment

General for all Lin syndromes: Restore Qi Ji of the Bladder.

  • BL-22 (TR: water passages)
  • BL-28 (Bladder Shu)
  • BL-39 (lower He of TR)
  • Global points: CV-3 (Mu) and LR-2 (if there is pain on urination)
  • KI-3, biao li, to help the Bladder through the Kidney
