It is of excess type, due to accumulation of yin, phlegm and dampness that obstructs.
- Chronic cough, mild, deeper, severe and low volume
- Sticky phlegm, abundant, especially after eating and on waking in the morning.
- Symptoms of Spleen-Qi deficiency: heaviness, abdominal distension, chest oppression, soft stools.
- Swollen tongue with teeth marks, thick white coating.
- Slippery pulse
Treatment
- Cough of internal origin: BL-13, LU-9, LU-1, SP-6
- Eliminate dampness, tonify Spleen, decongest the chest: ST-40, BL-20, SP-3, LU-5, LI-4, CV-17, PC-6.
