Kidney Fails to Receive Qi

The Kidney is weak and cannot help descend Qi and maintain it in the Lower Burner, so Qi accumulates in the Upper Burner and produces symptoms that appear to be Lung disease.

Symptoms

  • Shortness of breath after exertion
  • Rapid and weak respiration
  • Expiration longer than inspiration (short and rapid inspiration) that worsens with exertion
  • Chronic cough, asthma
  • Spontaneous sweating
  • Cold limbs
  • Chilling after sweating
  • Swollen face
  • Emaciation
  • Mental apathy
  • Clear urine and incontinence during an asthma attack or when coughing
  • Lower backache
  • Tinnitus
  • Pale tongue
  • Deep and weak pulse

  • Injury from the Seven Emotions
  • Excess physical and mental work
  • Aging
  • Excessive sexual activity
  • Chronic Lung diseases with cough

Treatment

Tonify Kidney-Qi and stimulate descending
