Lung Yang Deficiency

Like Lung Qi Deficiency but with involvement of yang, heat. It does not distribute fluids and yin accumulates. For example: chronic bronchitis.

Symptoms

  • Shortness of breath, weak respiration.
  • Cough with abundant clear and fluid phlegm.
  • Aversion to cold, feeling of cold, especially cold hands.
  • Feeling of cold in the upper back (between shoulder blades).
  • Catches colds easily.
  • Pale face.
  • Physical and mental exhaustion.
  • Weak voice and reluctance to speak.
  • Edema.
  • No thirst.
  • Pale, swollen and moist tongue.
  • Weak pulse at the right "thumb" position.

Causes

  1. Lung Qi Deficiency with interior Cold
  2. Spleen and Kidney Yang Deficiency
  3. Attack of exterior Cold
  4. Inadequate diet: excess of cold and raw foods
  5. Sadness
