Spleen Yang Deficiency

Spleen-Yang deficiency is a syndrome similar to Spleen-Qi deficiency with symptoms of Cold and increased Dampness. There is insufficient Yang to transform and transport nutrients.

Symptoms

  • Poor appetite
  • Abdominal Distension, especially after eating
  • Tiredness, lassitude, depressed mood
  • Pale face
  • Weakness of the limbs
  • Clear and fluid Leukorrhea
  • Tendency to obesity
  • Scanty urine or frequent urination
  • Loose stools or diarrhea, sometimes with undigested food
  • Aversion to cold, interior Cold, cold limbs
  • Oedema
  • Pale, wet and swollen tongue
  • Soft or weak and slightly slippery pulse

Causes

  • Spleen-Qi deficiency
  • Kidney-Yang deficiency
  • Pharmaceutical drugs
  • Inappropriate diet: excess of cold and raw foods
