Symptoms

There is pain with Wind characteristics: widespread and variable.

• Non-fixed pain, mobile. Changes location.
• Changing intensity.
• Variable frequency.

In general it starts in the upper part of the body: neck, shoulders, arms. It doesn't maintain the same intensity, one day a lot of pain, another little, the next day a little less.. Many fibromyalgias fit here. It appears and disappears like Wind, with no logical reason. It attacks more at the superficial level: muscles and tendons. It causes contractures. Also Ma Mu (numbness, tingling) mild. It worsens with Cold like all Bi, which improve with Heat. As it is in retraction, pain is exacerbated when trying to extend. There may be functional impotence, related to intensity of pain. These people fear Wind and Cold, may have sweating (Wind opens the pores), at first there may be an exterior pattern context, chills and fever. Tongue with thin whitish coating may be Wind if there are no other interior patterns. Pulse may be superficial, the typical Wind pulse is somewhat delayed, not slow.

Treatment principle: eliminate Wind first of all, activate the circulation of Qi and Blood in the Channels.

Treatment

• Eliminate Wind: GB-20, BL-12, GV-16, GV-14, LR-3, LI-4 If it starts with exterior pattern.
• Treat the Blood to eliminate Wind indirectly: when Blood moves Wind disappears. BL-17, SP-10, BL-18, BL-19
• Take into account the person's pattern, if they have Zang Fu involvement with Bi, for example in fibromyalgia: it is chronic fatigue + pain in different degrees. A wonderful point for pain and fatigue is BL-43, yes or yes must be in treatment. Girl with Blood deficiency, more Blood points.
