Blood deficiency fails to nourish the Shen. This syndrome is often combined with Spleen-Qi deficiency and Liver-Blood deficiency.

- Pale, lusterless face
- Discolored lips
- Pale tongue, thin coating
- Fine weak, choppy pulse.
Causes
- Loss of Xue: hemorrhage, very heavy menstruation.
- Insufficient production: may be due to weak SP/ST, inadequate diet. Earth fails to nourish the Blood. Weak Kidney fails to produce it.
- Excessive pensiveness consumes Heart-Blood.
Treatment
Tonify Xue. Tonify Heart. Calm the Shen.
