H

External pathway

Begins at point LR-1, at the outer corner of the nail of the big toe. It follows the first intermetatarsal space and the dorsum of the foot. It passes in front of the inner malleolus and in front of the Spleen Channel. It joins the Spleen Channel at SP-6. It continues along the inner border of the tibia until reaching a distance of 8 cun above the inner malleolus, where it crosses with the Spleen Channel and passes behind it. It reaches the inner end of the popliteal fossa fold (LR-8). It continues along the middle part of the inner surface of the thigh. It reaches the groin fold, passes through points SP-12 and SP-13 and penetrates the pubis, circling the external genitals. It ascends through the lower abdomen and joins Ren Mai at points CV-2, CV-3 and CV-4. It continues the ascending and oblique course until reaching the tip of the 11th rib (LR-13). It rises to the 6th intercostal space (LR-14) where it internalized.

Internal pathway

Trayecto interno principal H

From LR-14 it penetrates the Liver and Gall Bladder to establish Biao-Li relationship. It goes to the Stomach, crosses the diaphragm, branches in the ribs and lungs, passes behind the trachea and goes to the throat. It reaches the maxillary sinus, the eyeball and the brain.

From the maxillary sinus two branches emerge:

  • One branch ascends through the forehead, goes to the vertex and reaches GV-20.
