Abundant and very frequent urine
1. Due to Kidney-Yang deficiency: Empty-Cold. Clear and abundant urine, cold, aversion to cold... BL-20 and BL-23, GV-4; CV-4, CV-6 and CV-8 with moxibustion.
2. Due to diabetes (Xiao Ke); Kidney-Yin deficiency. Weight loss and thirst, red tongue, fine and rapid pulse. Urine is turbid and abundant. KI-1 and KI-2; LR-2 or LR-3; BL-23, BL-13, ST-36; BL-29
Scanty urine
1. Due to Full-Heat: fever, profuse sweating... heat consumes the Body Fluids.
2. Due to disorder of Spleen, Kidney and Lung: oedema, swelling, fluid retention, drinks little.
- Oedema of the face: tonify Lung LU-7, CV-17; GV-26
- Oedema of the legs: tonify Kidney-Yang KI-3; KI-7
- In all cases tonify Spleen-Yang to transform and properly channel water SP-6; SP-9
Frequent, painful, urgent urination
Urinary tract infection. Damp-Heat in the Bladder
Urinary incontinence
Pollakiuria, frequent urination, large amounts of urine, without infection, pain or itching. Bladder prolapse, "overactive bladder". (See Yin Qiao Mai).
- Kidney-Yang deficiency: CV-4 and CV-6 with moxibustion, SP-6; KI-6; LU-7; KI-10
Weak urine stream
Lower abdominal pain. Difficulty urinating. Post-void dribbling. Stones, gravel in the urinary tract. Blood in the urine. Burning pain. Symptoms worsen when tired or after sexual intercourse.
- Kidneys not controlling fire, there is fire in the Lower Burner, between SI and BL. This fire condenses and forms stones, obstruction in the duct. 4 and 6 CV with moxa, SP-6; KI-6; LU-7; KI-10; LR-1; LR-2
Blood in the urine
Tiredness, fatigue, weak pulse, physical and mental asthenia. Heat in the Blood.
Incontinence in children
Kidney-Jing deficiency, Bladder weakness.
